NIH grant H113A011403 was awarded to Kessler Medical to develop a searchable Research and Publications registry - the award was a 5-year, multi-million dollar grant. I was contracted to do the PHP coding and MySQL database programming for this project.

The Registry included a secure login with a multi-tiered role checking for logged in users, full rollback of all changes made to projects and publications (in MySQL, which lacked a rollback utility at the time of coding), a complex approval process of new and edited users, projects, and publications, XML data exports (RSS and otherwise) and imports from the National Library of Medicine, full activity logging, communication forms to get people in contact with investigators, static page generation of the entire site for optimal google and Atomz indexing, and a custom-coded string data import/export utility that moved ProCite citations into and out of the registry. The end result was a fully functional and scalable Content Management System usable by the NIH National Data Center delivered a full three years ahead of schedule.

Assisted in the consumer outreach portion of an NIH grant given to Moss Rehabilitation. Helped assess the initial web design concept for a web design and wrote use cases. Developed a full CMS with secure login for event management, a job opportunities bulletin board, a "mini-registry" like the tbindc.org project, and an XML import tool to convert MS PowerPoint documents to online flash presentations.

Contracted to create a CMS for a political site drawing attention to the plight of garment workers worldwide. Convinced management of need to use LAMP, wrote use cases, and designed and coded entire site from scratch (this was the "pre Web 2.0" era, so no solid blogging or photo tools). CMS allowed for multiple authors with differing tiers to add, edit, and approve stories as well as upload movies and photos. Managed RedHat 5 webserver, Darwin Streaming Server, and email for team
